Come away with me to the Land of Sweets!

Since today is Friday, I figured I would reminisce in standard #fbf fashion. Do you want to hear about a time when I was transported to the magical land of sweets?

Story Time

Picture this…a warm summer’s day (more like hot as Hades. It is Texas afterall). The day is August 15, 2020. A glorious day unlike any other day I have seen. You may be asking yourself, “What’s so special about that day?” I shall tell you my coloristic pupil. It is/was my birthday! Ah yes! How glorious. If I’m being completely honest though, my birthday this year looked a little different. There were things about this year that weren’t the same as last year. The pandemic for one. We’ve all had to rearrange our lives into some temporary version that has become increasingly more permanent. The details of which my life has been different will come in another post. For now, I’ll continue with the story.

Oh Joy!

I woke up feeling kind of nonchalant, yet super thankful that my birthday had finally arrived but like I said, this year was different. I spent the first part of the day just lying around. Relaxation is always a good thing. My birthday fell on a Saturday this year so that meant following the standard weekend routine…That’s right! You guessed it…Cleaning! Today was cleaning day and everyone was tasked with a portion of the house to clean. I had the upstairs bathroom. I’m a perfectionist so I took my job very seriously. No dust or grime will remain when I’m done! I rolled up my sleeves, picked up a sponge, and got to work. Little did I know that while I was busy working my life away, something rather sneaky was going on downstairs…

The plan revealed!

Minutes had passed, maybe even an hour ( I told you I was thorough), and I was finally beckoned downstairs. Actually I had been beckoned before that but I was too engulfed in my work! Ha! I go downstairs and to my surprise…NOTHING! Just kidding! My family had surprised me with a birthday party. Close family and friends were in the building and I couldn’t be happier. We ate and drank and were plenty merry. My heart was happy. I was content. But the story doesn’t end there. You can’t have a birthday party without dessert! Cake and more cake! The first cake…yes you read that correctly.

My partner placed the first cake, a white chocolate raspberry Nothing Bundt Cake, on the table before me! It looked so good! Usually, that’s the pinnacle of all things cake! If you thought that too, you would be mistaken. My sister comes in with a GINORMOUS box in her hands. In it was the most DELECTABLE cake I have ever seen. My mouth couldn’t stop watering.

The Reveal

Right before me sat a beautiful Strawberry Cheesecake/Strawberry cake, combo cake with fresh berries on top! I can’t! Y’all, my sister has been talking about her friend Leticia and her cakes for I don’t know how long! EVERY time there’s a function, a cake by Letty will be present! My birthday was no different and I will forever be blessed. That cake still lingers in my memory. In fact, my sister’s and my nephew’s birthdays are coming up and Letty’s cakes will be present! Take a look at how DELICIOUS this cake looked ya’ll!

Leticia is a self-taught pâtissière that pours her heart and her soul into everything she creates. She believes strongly in customer service, and wants your vision to be realized through her cakes. Do you, or anyone you know, want to come away with me to the land of sweets? If the answer is yes, then you know what to do! If you need a cake and I mean GOODT CAKE, then you need to hit up Leticia over at Lettylicious Cakes! I’ll include her information in this post. Give her a go! Tell her Adryan sent you! I promise you won’t be disappointed!
